Welcome to the new year, guys! Great show as always. I’d take a tablet reader in a heartbeat if it could take notes for me, be a writing as well as a reading tool (but still half a notebook, just a slate) and cost about $100. So, I can get one later this year, right?

Amazon’s definitely into pushing things down with the new phone- price, ease of use, the whole kit. They want everyone using 3G, I guess as part of a drive to keep carriers focused on just providing the bandwidth and not causing trouble elsewhere. And remember a big part of the branded move is just to keep Google’s search engine in front of folks as mobile search becomes more prevalent. They do ads, not phones.

Pass on the helicopter. At least until it carries a missile.
