Wireless battery charging on the horizon

One of the latest innovations to emerge from Qualcomm’s research labs is its eZone Universal Wireless Charging platform.

Forming part of the company’s research into various wireless airlink technologies, eZone uses  near-field magnetic resonance to charge multiple devices – simultaneously and wirelessly.

Any devices – from cell phones, bluetooth devices, wireless keyboards, cameras and gaming devices – need only be placed on the eZone platform for it to be charged. Continue reading

New AMD triple- and quad-core processors announced

AMD has announced the introduction of five new additions to its Phenom II processor family, including the industry’s only 45nm triple-core processors, and three new quad-core processors.

The new processors also herald the migration of the chips to AMD’s AM3 platform, which uses the more advanced, higher-performance DDR-3 memory. The Phenom II’s will however still slot into AM2+ sockets.
